Setup 2FA
Enable two-factor authentication on your Nether Host account
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security. After enabling it, you'll enter a code from your authenticator app each time you sign in.
Go to netherhost.cc/client/settings/2fa/setup — or open Settings in the sidebar and start 2FA setup from there.
How sign-in works with 2FA
When you log in, you'll enter your email and password as usual, then enter a code from your authenticator app before accessing your account.
Before you start
Get an authenticator app
Download an app on your phone that can store 2FA codes. We recommend:
- Authy
- 1Password
- Google Authenticator
These apps can back up your codes and help restore them if you lose access to your device.
Step 1 — Overview
On the first screen, read How to use two-factor authentication to see how login works with 2FA enabled.
Start setup
Click Start Setup to begin. Use Back to Settings if you need to return without enabling 2FA.
Step 2 — Link your app
Scan the QR code
Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code shown on screen.
If you can't scan it, manually enter the secret key displayed below the QR code instead.
Verify your code
Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app in the Enter the OTP from your app field, then click Verify Code.
Code not working?
Make sure your phone's time is set correctly — authenticator codes are time-based and won't work if the clock is off.
Step 3 — Save recovery codes
After verifying, you'll see your Recovery Codes. These are one-time backup codes you can use if you lose your authenticator device.
Download your codes
Click Download Codes and store the file somewhere safe — like a password manager or secure notes app.
Keep these codes safe
If you lose both your authenticator device and your recovery codes, you will not be able to access your account. Save them before clicking Finish Setup.
Finish setup
Review the codes, then click Finish Setup to complete 2FA. You can use Previous Step to go back if needed.
