General settings, SFTP, macros, and server reinstall

The Settings section covers server identity, file access, command shortcuts, and destructive actions. Open your server in the Nether Panel and use the sidebar tabs under Settings.

General

Manage your server identity and view debug information.

Server details

Update your Server Name, Description, and IP Alias, then click Save.

IP alias

We suggest leaving IP Alias unchanged unless you know what you're doing — changing it can confuse players trying to connect.

Change egg

Switch your server's egg to change the game type or server software. Use this to move between Minecraft Bedrock, Hytale, Paper, Purpur, and other supported eggs.

Select a new egg from the dropdown and click Change. Changes take effect immediately.

Server information

View read-only details including the Node your server runs on and the Server ID.

SFTP access

Connect to your server files using an SFTP client — useful for uploading large files over 1GB that are impractical through the web file manager.

The page shows your Server Address and Username. Use the copy buttons to paste them into your SFTP client. Your SFTP password is the same password you use to log in to the panel.

Click Connect to launch your default SFTP application automatically if one is installed on your computer.

Macros

Create shortcut commands that run one or more actions when you type a short command in the console.

Create a macro

Click to create a macro and configure:

  • Shortcut command — the short command you type in the console
  • Output command — the full command that runs when the shortcut is used. Add Arguments for dynamic placeholder values
  • Arguments — optional parameters passed into the output command

Macros let you chain multiple commands behind a single shortcut.

Danger zone

Irreversible actions that affect your entire server.

Reinstall server

Reinstall Server re-runs the installation script that initially set up your server. When you reinstall:

  • The server is stopped during the process
  • Configuration files may be overwritten
  • Some game data could be lost or reset
  • The action cannot be undone

Reinstall begins immediately once confirmed.
