Giving Yourself OP

Give yourself operator permissions on your Minecraft server

OP (operator) gives you admin commands on your Minecraft server — such as changing gamemode, teleporting, and managing players.

Using the console

  1. Open your server in the Nether Panel
  2. Go to the Overview tab
  3. Use the Console — make sure your server is running
  4. Type the OP command and press enter:
op YourUsername

Replace YourUsername with your exact in-game Minecraft username.

Remove OP

To remove operator status, run:

deop YourUsername

Username must match

Use the exact username from your Minecraft account — usernames are case-sensitive on some server software.
